Drinkztir
What should I say about the strange mind that designs Spacemen for cocktails?
I was having a Gin & Tonic with my neighbor. The ice was melting, stratification had occurred, flavors were isolated - the drink was stagnating… it desperately needed a stir. I got up to get a spoon. What a totally boring thing to use!! I certainly don’t want to use those skinny-minnie plastic stirrers. They really don’t move stuff around – and they are definitively one-use plastic. Hell no to them. Okay, there are decorative stirrers but, again, most are one-use plastic. What could I (a product designer for 30+ years) design?
The first design was the Note. Kismet: The Note's top flag-part hangs on the lip of the glass and the bottom oval-part is a perfect putter to get those ice cubes to shuffle around and blend their chill with the concoction's flavors and, of course, with your alcohol of choice. Also, the Note conjures thoughts of music - good start... Then came the Eye, the Mermaid, etc. My Stainless-Steel Drinkztirs are all made to last through thousands of washing machine cycles. I’ll have more entering the menagerie soon.
